  • Q: I need tutoring, what are my options?

A: Students who use tutoring are usually the students that will excel above the rest. The goal is to provide academic and personal support for students to develop successful progress through courses that will lead to graduation. There are two options (1) drop-in tutoring and (2) tutoring by appointment.

    Q. What is drop-in tutoring?

    A. Tutoring is available for all WNCC students in subjects listed on the Tutor Schedule. Students do not need an appointment to attend these sessions. Please check the on-line Tutor Schedule frequently as we may not have a tutor for all subjects at all times. Tutoring will be more effective if you come prepared. Look at your assignment and attempt to do the work yourself. Bring a lot of specific questions with you to the session. Tutors will not provide answers to assignments. They are here to help you learn how to do it yourself. Please bring your text, notebook, syllabus, calculator, and assignment and any other supplies or materials you need for the class.

A: In Scottsbluff, there are several areas of tutoring throughout the college campus. High frequency courses such as math and writing have tutoring available in the Math Lab and Writing Center most hours of the day. Both Labs are in the Williams Building on the Scottsbluff campus. The majority of our tutoring takes place in the Williams Building Labs and Learning Center such as math, writing, accounting, Spanish, psychology, etc. Other tutors work in the Main Building because of the necessity to be near the appropriate equipment. The computer tutors are in D-Pod Labs (D-1), the music tutors are in the Music Room next to the Little Theater, and the Anatomy & Physiology tutors are in the Science Lab (C-1).
