The campus life experience at Western Nebraska
Community College is directed
by the Vice President of Student Services,
Associate Dean of Student Services,
Residence Life Coordinators and
Resident Assistants on each floor.
Along with these positions,
several other staff members
provide essential services to the
residents of our halls. All
team members are committed
to providing each resident with
the opportunities and services
necessary to fully experience
campus life at WNCC.
Resident Assistants
Resident Assistants (commonly referred to as RAs) are
student leaders and members of the residence life team
at WNCC.
It is his or her job to enhance the overall on-campus
living environment for each student. Your RA is a
mediator, listener, organizer, policy enforcer and role model
in your residence hall community.
Your RA should be your
first point of contact for residence hall issues.
Card Access System
Both residence halls in Scottsbluff provide security
through a controlled card access system. This security
system provides monitored access to the residence halls.
All guests must enter through the front doors of each
residence hall unless accompanied by a resident using his
or her access card.
Staffing
Each residence hall provides front-desk staffing from
9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. If emergencies arise, please contact the
front desk or RA immediately.
Parking
For those students with a vehicle at WNCC, parking is
available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Since parking
spaces close to the residence halls can be in short supply
during high-demand periods, we ask that you be courteous
of others and park vehicles appropriately (between the
marked lines). Also, please obey all no parking zones.
Violations of parking regulations could cause the vehicle to
be towed at the owner’s expense.
Telephone and Cable TV Services
Both residence halls on the Scottsbluff campus provide
in-room or in-suite basic telephone and cable TV service.
The resident is responsible for providing the correct
cabling, phone and television set. We recommend that
students bring their own answering machine. Long
distance services should be accessed through
calling cards. Premium cable channels and
pay-per-view services are not available at this
time.
Computer Technology
Fully-equipped, student-access computer
labs are available in both residence halls on the
Scottsbluff campus. These 24-hour labs provide
the latest in hardware and software technology,
including access to the Internet, word processing
and spreadsheet packages. Laser printers are
provided for printing needs.
Computer data ports
are available in each room in Pioneer Hall, and wireless
Internet is available in the new residence hall. Students
must provide their own computer and Ethernet cards
to access the network connections. Residents
interested in using the wireless network connection must
have wireless access through a wireless card for a laptop
computer or a wireless adapter for a desktop computer.
Laundry Facilities
Each residence hall on the Scottsbluff campus provides
coin-operated laundry facilities on each floor.
Student Lounge / Activity Areas
In addition to any living areas provided in the residence
hall units, each hall on the Scottsbluff campus contains
an activity center or student lounge area. These areas are
perfect for gathering, socializing and relaxing.
Pioneer
Hall's lounge area includes pool tables, air hockey, table tennis and
large screen televisions.
Conestoga Hall's student
lounge includes comfortable furniture surrounding a
gathering area with a fireplace.
Diversity is Standard
The campus life team, from administrators to student
leaders, is committed to providing safe, non-threatening
environments for all residents.
We want to strengthen
the relationships and levels of understanding among our
residents by supporting diversity as it exists on our campus
or centers.
By developing relationships, we are preparing
our residents for the diverse world our residents will soon
enter. We encourage each student to see each student for
who they are, not what they are.
Therefore, we strongly
encourage acceptance and appreciation of people from all
walks of life, appreciation of backgrounds and appreciation
for differences.
Each person has intrinsic worth to us, and
as human beings, deserves dignity and respect.
College View Apartments Student Managers (Sidney Center)
A student manager is on-site. It is his or her job to

organizer, policy enforcer and role model in the College View Apartments. Your student manager should be your
first point of contact for apartment issues.

Parking is available in the front of all units.
